In last weeks previews and this weeks beginning, it showed Phil saying "we're screwed and in trouble. Then it shows a Coast Guard helicopter calling the Cornelia Marie. This implied that the Cornelia Marie was in trouble and needed the Coast Guard. As it turns out this was not the case. The producers seem to want the viewers to tune in for what never happens and completely lied in the previews. Opinions?

I guess it doesn't bother anyone else.

Anti I absolutely agree with you, I thought Phil had another attack from the way the previews showed it. And if I put any faith into this past Tuesday's previews, one of the main ships took a giant dump in the middle of the sea and everybody on it drowned. These are the exact types of antics that tore the Gosselin clan asunder and sent Nascar to hell... There's another thread out here about the show becoming more of a Hollywood production. I don't think the captains or the crabbers are causing that to happen, I think that once again it's pure media sensationalism and capitalizing on something that used to be a good thing until the network thought they could make it an even better good thing. Wrong. Leave this show as it was, pure and innocent and stop with the drama. It's plenty dramatic and in a good way, without having to add a soap operaish flavor to it. All that's going to do is cause us to hate it. The guys will still be out there fishing long after the network kills our interest and their 15 minutes of fame is over.

I don't know about the previews but I agree with your overall concept. Leave the Hollywood stuff in Hollywood and let us have our favorite show the way it was.

I also agree.

I absolutely understand the need for editing and such but this one was over the top in my opinion. I think DC very clearly attempted to deceive with that preview and only left most feeling cheated or annoyed. I know from my perspective, it didnt matter how good that episode was....I was really let down and not because I was disspointed with the outcome, rather I felt as if I had been lied to.

It felt a little too much like Survivor or Big Brother.

I think the misconception here is that you don't think a Phil health crisis is a national emergency.
There are about 3000 women on here who would disagree with you.

I am amazed at the success of this show and I think Americans are hungry for real heroes and interesting celebrities like Robert Mitchum instead of these small little petite Hollywood pretty boys and badboys like Clooney and Sheen and Cruise.

I watch tv shows and just don't understand why (not these guys) but other short and semi talented and usually Jewish guys are touted as
hearthrobs or celebrities when they look like perpetual college kids.
The whole Rush Limbaugh deal and actually the pro football deal also puzzle me.
Of course, our real heroes are coming home in flag-draped caskets and that would be a more compelling question. Why don't we have to watch a show on what that dead soldier did in his life and what his widow/her widower intends to do now?
Anyone feel misled by Pres. Obama?
How about by the two party political system?
