Season Five Promo Video
Discovery’s done a great job (I think) on the promo video for Season Five. Very stylized, very polished, and it contains all the drama and excitement we’ve come to expect from Deadliest Catch. It’s good to see Phil again, I’m sure his health will continue to be a major storyline - but I’m curious, what other possible storylines can you glean from this video? And can anyone identify the guy in the black body/wetsuit who looks like he might have fallen overboard?
All in all, I can’t wait - it airs one day after my birthday… what a great gift, thanks Discovery channel!

To the question of “And can anyone identify the guy in the black body/wetsuit who looks like he might have fallen overboard?” I have no clue who it is but it looks to be a law enforcement officer, regardless he is defenetly in SCUBA gear. If you look closely at the :16 second mark, you can see the straps of the BCD over the shoulders, with a metal adjustment over the right, and you can clearly see the BC’s inflation hoses and mouthpeice over his left shoulder, which is what the teal blue buttons are on. There is also a brief instant where you can see what looks like a badge with an eight pointed star in the middle of the man’s chest.

Janar, it seems from the link that the song is a custom promo theme, not likely a whole song yet. I may be wrong (and hope I am, it’s cool), but I’m betting it may be part of a future release.

It is Keith in the scuba gear on the deck. If you watch, the clip “Keith takes a beating” he is in the scuba gear. OR we we will just have to wait for the season to start and find out !:)

I’ve been searching for this song for some time. As far as I can tell, it seems that this was recorded only as a promo. However, it is entirely possible that Discovery will release it as a full song. This happened previously, when enough fans contacted them about the Deadliest Catch commercial song, now titled “Run To You”. In that case, Discovery actually had the girl singing it record a whole song to release to fans. I hope the a complete version of this song will become available to fans soon.

Janar, if you go to the site again, further down in the comments for the video is a link to the Discovery website. The group has been talking to Discovery to make a full version of the song availible for DL and are asking fans to go to the link and contact Discovery asking for the same. Every little bit helps so hit the link everyone!
