First….. I have to say……**Edgar** is simply gorgeous. I am fascinated with his antics and his smile.
That being said, Deadliest Catch makes me appreciate the every day life I share with my husband and family. It has to be hard on the wives, girlfriends, children, mothers, fathers and all who love them when these guys leave the docks for the unforgiving Bering Sea. I worry about them as we watch from week to week, season to season. I can’t imagine having one of my own loved ones aboard any of those vessels. It would be extremely hard to watch them sail away knowing how mad that sea is!
As for this season…. I love every season as I watch these guys and families take to the seas to do what they have been raised to do, after their fathers and grandfathers. So no matter what the media hype is concerning this show, I enjoy being a part of the TV audience and watching those awesome, courageous men set sail every season and pray that they all have a safe journey and return home to their families and loved ones.
I wish Phil the best of luck with his health. It would be great to see him on the Cornelia Marie again and will never count him out. He showed the world what a strong and determined man he is. You will continue to be in my prayers, Capt’n Phil.

I am one of those wives, GF, ect. that gets left behind when my man goes fishing. i choose not to watch the show cause honestly i cant. Im terrified enough of the dangers of my fiances job and this show just tends to make my fears worse. Im left at home and am currently 6 months pregnant hoping that i dont get a call saying that my mans boat is missing. I think that people should understand that first of all it doesnt help that when people find out what he does for a living the 1st thing they do or say is ask if he’s on the show. Then there is some inconsiderate comment about wither how dangerous the job is or that someone they know or heard of DIED! Please understand that its difficult enough for the fishermans family without this show adding to the paranoia.

Man, I was a fan from hell. Unfortunatlly, Matt’s tirade on the NW, coupled with the segment documenting the camera crew’s perspective, just sort’a ’soured’ me to the whole show. These guys were my heros.

Adam…. Man, it would be a HOOT to hear the stories you probably have…. Whenever they do one of the wrap up shows and they’re all sitting in the bar, I just have to wonder how much fun it would be to be sitting around there listening to these guys. Not just the captains, but all of them, are so entertaining to watch.

Have you ever been out crabbing with any of them? And if so, during anything like the hurricane they showed this season? I could NOT imagine that. Freezing your a** off, trying not to fall over board or get nailed by a pot, the crane or falling ice. Just amazing.

Anyway, very jealous! I envy you your environment and patrons!

How funny, I am a security guard here in Dutch Harbor. I work for Harbor Crown Seafoods. I am with The crews almost every night they are in town, since the deliver here. I have spent many nights carrying these guys back to the boats just hammered or passed out. I had no idea the show was so popular until I went to Calilfornia last month, and people started recognizing me from the show. I don’t even watch it, so I didn’t even know when I was on or not. I am around the camera crews all the time, and I spend a lot of time on the Time Bandit and the Northwestern, but it is crazy how many people watch this show. If you only knew the kind of shit that REALLY goes on behind the cameras HAHAHA… you wouldn’t give a rats ass about a fish being punched… I have lots of pictures over the years of us all kicking it, but I can’t share them all with you guys, since I might end up out of a job if I did, but if some of you are interested, respond here and I will try to come back and look. I don’t use the internet too much, and I work 12 hours a day 7 days a week except for my 5 weeks of vacation a year.

i’ve watched this program since it was just a special. i dvr every program and all i can say is that i could never do it and i respect the people that do.
i hope phil from the Cornelia Marie comes through that blood clot thing alright too. my prayers are with him, his sons and crew. squables aside i think we could learn something from these guys (and the occasional girl) about living and working together especially.

People need to Man the F*&#K up. A fish does not have a central nervous system as we do so cannot feel pain. My sons and I watch every single episode, Phil Cptn. CM. is by far my Fave “What A Man”..
