What I’d like to see on Season 4…

After this season, I can’t imagine it getting better, but I know it can.

What I’d like to see on Season 4:

  • The Rollo. What happened to those guys? I thought Eric and his crew were great.
  • The new boats (The Wizard and Farwest Leader) back for another season. Both captains had solid crews that brought some competition to the other boats in the fleet.
  • More Episodes. I know, I might be greedy, but it seems like if Lexus can advertise on the radar, etc. We can have more episodes and more filming. However, I’m not going to volunteer to film extra hours. ;)
  • Behind the Scenes Episodes or Never before seen footage. I know there has to be some interesting stuff going on behind the camera or when the camera is supposed to be off. I’d also like to see who’s the brave people behind filming this great show.

What would you like to see or not see in the next Season?

Let us know.

Behind the Scenes Episodes or Never before seen footage sounds like a great idea! Kinda what after the catch shows but we need a blooper reel like at the end of the final after the catch lastnight cuz like they said..it’s all bout keep’n the comedy!

&..I always noticed seeing clips of the cornelia marie atleast 40 mins into the show most of the time. MORE CORNELIA MARIE NEXT SEASON! I get a kick out of that family and all thhe agruing, reminds me of my damn fam.

“The Rollo. What happened to those guys? I thought Eric and his crew were great.” Yeah! My thoughts exactly. I’d like to know why they weren’t back this season and if they’ll be back next time. I’d also like to know more about what all the different crew members do when they’re not crabbing. Are they just kickin’ back? Or do they have other jobs they work in the off season?

  3. Amy Says:

I would like to see more of the Cornelia Maria… I think the dynamics of the father and sons on the boat is great!

  4. Scott Says:

A LOT more episodes! Waiting a whole year for a dozen episodes really stinks! I would like to see Farwest Leader back again with Northwestern and Cornelia Marie… assuming there will be a Season 4. I haven’t heard any kind of commitment yet.

  5. Michaela Says:

It would be awesome to see over the summer some of the very first episodes. This season I would like to see some more of those awesome pranks that the captains pull on eachother!!! I would like to see more of the Maverick (my fav. boat) because it wasn’t in opilio season!!! What do all the crews do over the summer when they’re not fishing? Deadliest Catch is my fav. show, EVER!!!!! I hope everybody that’s on the show is having a great time!!!!!

  6. MX Says:

Behind the scenes, absolutely! I’d like to also see what happens back at home while these guys are out risking their lives but that’s just me!

  7. Northwesternfan07 Says:

how about “after the catch” all season long? i really liked it. And maybe some more boats.

  8. Gale Williams Says:

I would love to see captain Johnathan do the crab dance again!! I just love how he laughs.

  9. Scott Says:

While we wait 9 months for the next 12 shows, (again, assuming), I wish DC would start showing the entire 3 seasons in order in the normal time slot.

  10. Dene Warren Says:

I am just enamored with the entire show, cast, and crew (both of the boats and documentors). When I was in high school some 15 years ago, I remember always seeing ads to go to Alaska to assist at the fisheries. I always wanted to go up there but just the though of fish stink made me ill and my life took a different path. I truly enjoy the amazing footage as well. I admire you all for the hard work you do and for allowing all of us a window to see you adventures. I commend what you all do and though I don’t particularly eat much seafood at all, I have a new found respect for what you all do. THANK YOU!!!

  11. Dene Warren Says:

Oops - I forgot to add… what I would like to see one season would be how the families at home have been affected by the show, seeing what their family/friends are doing out at sea; and what the cast/crew do on the ‘off’ seasons.

  12. deadliest catch fan Says:

Anyone know anything about what the Rollo’s up to these days?

  13. LoveSig Says:

What about the next season???? Is it coming, anyone, Buehler, Buehler????? THX!

  14. Pandora Says:

I have the upmost respect for all of you men who rish your lives out there. My only hope is that all of you do well and make it back home safe to your respected families. I would love to hear more about the crews personal lives. How do their familes deal with the stress of their men being in such danger at work. Do all of them have familes? What about John Hillstrand? Is he married? Or Phill from the Cornelia Marie? Also, Why aren’t their any women on the ships? Are they not allowed?

  15. Lee & Amy Says:

When does the next season come to TV?

  16. Boggle Says:

    Hi Lee & Amy -

Latest reports say March or April 2008. Which makes sense, I guess they’ll probably shoot the king crab season this fall, then the opie season over the winter of 2007/2008 and then come out with episodes a few months after shooting wraps.

  17. Jan Reese Says:

Where’s Rollo? I loved that ship and Eric. My entire family misses them. Will they be back? Love watching Deadliest Catch as much as I love watching the Green Bay Packers play especially when they are winning. Have Deadliest Catch withdrawl when the season is over just like when football season is over. Need to have more, it’s addicting.

  18. Boggle Says:

    Hi Jan -

It sounds like the Rollo was left out of Season 3 by the producers, and not by choice. At least that’s how I read Eric’s comment on his website:

“For those of you that are constantly asking if we will be on Deadliest Catch Season 3, thanks for your loyalty. We have regressed from the rock-stardom life of fishing reali-documentary fame and will not appear this season. Of course if you wish to see us back in a future season, I’d suggest writing a letter to the nice people at Discovery and tell them what you think. Anything is possible. Meanwhile, we’ll be out there… far from the spotlight having flounder fights on deck, playing with seabirds, and hiding octopus in the bathroom. Oh, the footage that you didn’t see and the footage that was never shot….”

    http://www.rollocrab.com/

So if you’re like me and really really want to see the Rollo again on Season 4, be sure to write in! Though its probably more effective if you write to Original Productions - who produces the show - as opposed to the Discovery Channel itself.

    Let’s keep our fingers crossed!

  19. GlenP Says:

I did not really care for the Far Western part of Deadliest Catch; the Captain is too hippicritical of his wife, and crew; he is a poor example of how to manage people on a boat 200 - 400 miles from port; too corporate groomed and oriented and not a real people handler. You have to get to know your crew and make them feel like you are a part of the team and not some corporate oriented person who is ready to set you on the nearest dock.No drama so to speak in his voice and he is too every day.

However, I would like to see the Rollo and his crew; they are great. Sorta laid back and fun lovin crew. A bit on the horseplay side though and darn lucky. But they are real people and they are a team that works together and I like the boat. So bring the Rollo back for Season 4.

I would also like to see the Maverick with Rick, Donna, and Hiriam and the rest of the crew. Hiriam added humor and drama to the show.

Jonathan Hilstand. on the Time Bandit, as far as I am concerned, is the Deadliest Catch’s hero! I like Jonathan’s old salt voice; sounds like, what I have heard - an 17th or 18th century pirate and he even favors Black Beard. He and Andy know how to manage a FV at sea and know how to bring themselves to the level of the crew and have fun out there, albeit that it is work they advocate get the job done correctly the first time, but have fun doing it.

Phil Harris, of the Corniela Marie is awesome, there has to be very little camera prep for him; I think he is as natural on the show as can be. His attitude and the way he goes about commanding his F/V and crew reminds me of how the commercial captains on the Chesapeake Bay are. His sons and his crew are great, they seem to work together and to have fun out there.

Sig and Edgar Hansen on the Northwestern are the perfect - how its done and the way it is - documentary captain and deck supervisor that Discovery could find. Matt and Nick are the perfect deck hands. The,whole crew look like they have fun working, pulling innocent pranks, and have a safe and fun time out there. I like the way they bring green horns on board, train, and make them feel like the crew….and more important how they handle putting the green horns in their place when the time comes.

Keith on the Wizard is comical. But he is a good FV Captain. I like the way he handles his crew.

Mike Rowe, nothing more can be said about your narration. You are the perfect voice behind the scene(s). I also enjoy watching you in Dirty Jobs. I only have one dirty job around here, and that is when I pull a 5 speed transmission out of either of my ‘87 Thunderbird Turbo Coupes or the automatic transmission out of my Crown Vic; the hydraulic fluid gets all over the floor and myself. Perhaps this would make a good do-it-yourself Dirty Job episode?

would love to see more of the maverick.

  21. debbie Says:

I’d like to see more of the off time for them what they do the other 9 months, family fun. What do they work so hard for to do the rest of the year.

  22. Doug Stanley Says:

I would sure like to see more huge waves. I mean really big, like the captains tell tells of.
For many years I have been filming on the boats.
I will be headed to sea again this season.
    Will this be the one?

Of course it would be really nice if there was only, say an hour of these waves.

Oh yea and every boat should have a sauna like the Time Bandit.
And I should never have to do dishes!

  23. Joe Says:

Would love to see less of Blake Painter and have Hiram Johnson return. Blake is an arrogant little XXXX and his replacing everyone on deck when he became “captain” is pure BS. Everytime I see him on the show I fast forward the TIVO through any segment with him in it. Sorry but Rick and Donna made a bad decision IMHO in giving the ship over to him for part of the season.

  24. ericgasparro Says:

bring back the rollo! the artsiest boat on the fleet.

  25. Brenda Says:

I hope the main boats are: The Northwestern with Sig & Edgar - a must, a great family; The Cornelia Marie with Phil & family are excellent - Phil is a great storyteller; The Time Bandit with Jonathan & Andy crack me up, great laugh Capt. Jon; The Maverick - Rick you are very good at what you do; this is the hub of the show.
Can we add a few more boats to see more of the fleet & their challenges. Like the Rollo, Farwest, Retriever, & the Wizard. Some time spent with these crews would be good.
More After The Catch episodes. It was really interesting to listen to the captains tales. Phil is a GREAT story teller. Definitely more episodes.

  26. Purklelove Says:

I just love all the boats and look forward to seeing them all again next year. It is kinda cool to see them change it up though.

I really enjoyed After the catch as well. Definitely want to see that return!

  27. Simon Says:

    PLAY IN HD PLEASE

  28. Laura Says:

More Episodes - and ASAP, please !!!!!

  29. Cager Says:

Phil is the best! He is so crusty and foulmouthed! He is exactley what I invision crab fishermen to be, and am proud of him!

  30. Jon Sigurd Says:

Sig and the rest of the crew on the Northwestern make me proud of beiing norwegian.! My family are fishermen and because of this show I’ve decided to try it out even though I am a farmer. I really love watching this show, I’d watch it all day if I could. My dream would be to become a greenhorn on the Northwestern.

    Med vennlig hilsen

I love this show, this is now my favorite show, but I missed the first two seasons. Since we have to wait until Spring to catch the new season, I wish the first and second season could be repeated so new viewers could catch up.

  33. emo_chick Says:

i heard a rumor of an all girl run boat, that’s gonna twist up the show a bunch. i think its a good idea.

  34. Fran Deal Says:

My grandson, Shea Long, is on the Time Bandit. Since he lives in Alaska and I in Texas, I sure would like to see more of the Time Bankit and of course, Shea Long. Heard that for a time during the summer he was the captain of the boat. Supposedly, he is the youngest captain. Hope you show more of the Time Bandit and Shea Long in the fourth season.

  35. windystout Says:

Where is the Rollo.?? Please bring the rollo back!

  36. Texas Lone Star Says:

This is just the best show on TV right now…you can’t top Deadliest Catch!! I would love to see the Rollo come back to the show, they were a fun crew to watch. My favorite will always be the Northwestern with the Corneila Maria and the Time Bandit close behind. More episodes and bloopers would be a great edition to the show and I think that everyone has to agree with that!! I don’t think that adding more boats would be a good idea…it would be too hard for Discovery Channel to spread the time out between too many boats. I would not want to see only a few minutes of each boat, that would suck. I would love to see the Farwest Leader return.

  37. doodle bug Says:

Who knew star fish were a sign crab had moved?beezar.I love the show and have turned my kids on to it.New this season-fist fighting?Scream let it out-don’t hit one another.I would like to hear some more about superstitions.Obously ravens are bad luck-lights out!Good luck to ya!

  38. Amazon Says:

I keep wondering how much of those kings are edible besides the legs? I just imagine putting a whole crab in a large pot to cook and serving it. On the Dungeness crab a large part of the body is edible. As far as the boats go I miss Ragnhild and Donna. I seem to remember a boat that had the captain’s daughter on it also. What happened to Larry’s geriatric crew and his boat? They showed up the younger crabbers.

  39. the big dog Says:

I’ve always enjoyed the show with all the antics. However I think it would be a great idea to do a show on the possibilities and practices of actualy landing a job onboard acrab boat. I’m sure it is not as easy as being in the right place at the right time. You have referenced to many times, but actual facts are skecthy at best. I am not considering a trip to Alaska [I like the warm wheather] But it may help othersto know what to expect.
And on an unrelated note I was almost glad to see the crew of the Northwestern come down with the flu. I say almost because I would not wish the flu on anyone. But glad to they are not superman.

  40. paul Says:

more episods? are you nuts, how much crab fishing can you watch?…………..

  41. Larry Says:

Well Paul ! Just how much can you film. These guy’s and gal’s are getting their 15 min of fame right now. You fishermen keep on going and get as much money as you can from all this hoopla because like fishing - when it’s good it’s good and when it dry’s up it— sucks
